This is me, Jeanne, when I first met Frank about three years ago. I had moved to Winston-Salem North Carolina from Tampa Florida in October of '97, trying to make a better life for my children and myself.
I had finally settled in some by the next summer, and found the West End Opera House (through a friend, Mike).
It was in July that I first saw Frank playing pool on the other side of the bar. I was drawn to him, but yet for some reason still kinda shy about just going up to meet him. Those who know me, know that isn't like me at all!!
So I chose to play the game of accidentally bumping into him (the old stand by still works!).I checked to see if he wore a wedding band, saw there was none, and was relieved to see that at least! That was the start for me to chat with him on my way to the ladies room each night (another good stand by!)
We would chat and he seemed interested, but yet we just weren't getting too far into the getting to know each other process.

I was afraid of interrupting his pool games and he, I think, was just plain shy.
I had met Anne Smith when I first started going there, and about the time I was giving up on Frank, I found out she knew him too.
He saw us together one night and used that chance to come sit by me and chat more. That was good since I can be a real talker for sure if you are sitting by me!
That gave us a chance to finally get to know each other. That was also the night I found out he wasn't a biker, but a computer guru.
I was big into computers too, though I had no real training. I am self taught, and I love the challenge computers give me! We finally had something to break the ice with!
I wasn't ready for the night to end (I finally had this man talking!), so I asked Frank out for coffee. We went to the Waffle house of all places! And we have been together ever since! Our first real date was on August 18, 1998.
